Why Artists Are Turning to Code for Stillness | The Way of Code & Generative Art
A still from the interactive response to the prompt “What if it was weightless?” — where sound, motion, and silence become an invitation to simply be. We often think of coding as something reserved for engineers—a world of syntax, logic, and technical skill. But with tools like artificial intelligence, the doors are opening. Today, even those of us who don’t identify as coders can explore…

Honestly, I'm never going to have time to play BG3 (or even read fanfic), so I'm just going to sit here and eat the bits of art that come on my dash and make up wildly inaccurate headcanons about this lesbian throuple

Andrew Heath: Signals (transmitters and receivers).
"Signals (Transmitters and Receivers)" is one of the most evocative pieces from Andrew Heath's album Signals and Codes. Framed within a conceptual exploration of academic research into paranormal abilities, this composition captures the essence of extrasensory communication and its intersection with emerging mid-20th-century technology.
The piece is built upon field recordings, processed electronic sounds, and an ambient texture that suggests a soundscape both scientific and ethereal. The use of radio static and fragmented noises acts as a reflection of the uncertainty in experiments with extrasensory perception and telekinesis. These elements evoke the sensation of an incomplete transmission, as if the information were on the threshold of being received but was interfered with by the very nature of the medium.
Musically, the structure of "Signals (Transmitters and Receivers)" is diffuse and constantly evolving, lacking a traditional melodic progression. Instead, it presents an accumulation of textures that suggest an abstract exploration of sound as a perceptual phenomenon. The combination of electronic treatments and faint melodic fragments reinforces the sense of an ongoing experiment, where reality and perception become intertwined.

So in hokkaido there's a store called snoopy village, would naoya ever take you there?
(I wanted to leave a link to a video but it says youtube links aren't supported.)
(link, snoopy village starts at 21:15)
omg rossi, i skipped ahead to the snoopy village section but this entire video seems so pleasant and calm… so i think it would actually be aki taking me here, it’s tradition for us to visit hokkaido around the winter holidays to visit his family’s grave and we would absolutely end up at the snoopy village!

Late Night Coding Vibes
Tumblr media
3 AM. Cold brew #4. Just cracked the perfect ambient playlist for those all-night coding sessions.
pro tips from someone who's been there:
no lyrics (sorry Led Zeppelin, not tonight)
60-80 BPM is the sweet spot
layer in some rain sounds from mynoise
sync your room lighting to the beats (i use SignalRGB and it's chef's kiss)
current late night stack: → Tycho for starting strong → lofi beats for the deep focus zone → ambient soundscapes for the wind down
protip: don't put songs you love too much in your coding playlist or you'll end up air drumming instead of debugging (learned that one the hard way lmao)
currently: vibing to some minimal techno while fixing this nasty bug 🐛
drop your go-to coding tracks in the notes! always looking to expand the collection ✨

My favourite ADHD coping mechanisms that baffles and horrifies everyone I tell about it too is ‘see and hear morse code’ looped
youtube
This youtube video has gotten me through so many work days. Theres just something about asynchronous beeping layered with music and white noise and also sometimes distant siren ambience that keeps me seated at my desk on task! Is it pleasant? Absolutely not. But its effective. 10/10
